About Steve Swope

Steve Swope is a long-time resident of Newnan. Steve’s business career was in the travel industry where he was instrumental in the creation of Delta Air Lines’ Revenue Management System in the 1980s. After leaving Delta, he was one of the founders of The Rubicon Group, a company that provided critical business intelligence and pricing guidance to the travel and hospitality industries. Steve served as the President and CEO of Rubicon from its inception until the sale of the company in 2011. Steve serves as the CEO of GWTW Partners which has complete oversight of the use and intellectual property protection of Margaret Mitchell’s award-winning novel, Gone With the Wind.


Steve is an ordained Catholic Deacon, a member of the National Association of Diaconate Directors, a Catholic Relief Services Global Fellow, a member of the Board of the Coweta Samaritan Clinic, and the Coweta County Public Facilities Authority. He is an Election Poll Manager, and a Superior Court Bailiff.


Previously, he served on the Board of Trustees of the University of West Georgia Foundation, Chair the Newnan Coweta Airport Authority, and a Board Member of the Patrons of the Nixon Centre. Steve and his wife Marie support many local nonprofits and serve as mentor/tutors each week at a Title I elementary school.

Steve frequent speaker about topics ranging from the worldwide refugee crisis, the travel industry, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and the development and operation of a successful company.
